Speaking of IX, it is its 25th anniversary this year and Square have opened a site for it and announced some new releases like the whole main cast in plush form alongside a vinyl. Wonder if we'll hear something on that supposed remake/remaster soon.

Yeup saw that; was thinking of buying the Vivi plush but naturally a lot of the Japanese sites that stock them are sold out.

IX is my absolute favourite FF, yet the prospect of a remake doesn't excite me as much as it should. I have no doubts I'll change my tune if/when a trailer drops, but I think VI makes more sense, given how beloved it is and that it's still stuck in the 16 bit era.

As much as I'd love a remake of VI I'm just not sure it's feasible. It's a pretty big game with a lot of very varied sections and an absolutely enormous cast.

I'm not sure exactly how far into FFXIV I am but according to the PS5 cards when you're logging into a game, I've just started the second half of A Realm Reborn at 26hrs in. Enjoying it quite a bit, but I do really hope and expect that the voice acting is significantly better in the DLCs because it is awful in this.

What’s the last MSQ you completed? I question how accurate the PS5 is with it. I also know firsthand that the free updates inbetween ARR and Heavensward last fuuuuuucking ages.

I first laughed because I found it ironic but then I realised "wait everyone is voiced like this". I think the last one I did was

. I have a tendency to do every single sidequest in each new area before I start doing the main ones which is a hindrance but also means I can have many days with no progress and then the next I make a huge jump.

You probably weren't asking me but I can't really remember, don't think I was particularly overlevelled though. I'm sure I did some grinding but nothing major, think it was a bit like my VII playthrough where I got to the final dungeon but didn't really realise that that was it. Maybe 40?

Of course I was asking you haha I think you're one of the only other people here who's completed it.

I've levelled everyone to 50 which is probably overkill but oh well.

At least you shouldn't have to worry about a difficulty spike. I kind of forget how exactly the last dungeon goes. I still have fond memories of spending 2hrs grinding in the last dungeon in VII and not saving because I thought I'd get notice before the ending. Then I stumbled onto the final gauntlet and managed to beat it, this being my first old FF game. I'd say if I died I might have chucked my controller at the wall mind.
