idk if that thing is in my future, it costs as much as a ps5
or at least before ps5s jumped up $200 😵💫 do you have a switch 2?
I've seen people saying this but is the Switch 2's price really so unexpected?
In the UK the Switch 2 launched at £395 in 2025, PS5 launched at £449 in 2020 so it was 13% more expensive at launch, with nearly 5 years difference. When you account for inflation the money you'd spend on a PS5 in 2020 is apparently closer to £570 when the Switch 2 launched, which would make it 44% more expensive.
The Switch launched at £280 in 2017, while the PS4 launched at £349 in 2013 where the PS4 was 25% more expensive. With inflation the PS4 was 30% more expensive. The disparity in price between the companies isn't actually closing that much. And as you say, with the new price hike it's actually grown significantly lmao
Do you think something about the Switch 2 means it should be significantly cheaper than a PS5 anyway, despite it being a newer system?
well you have to consider that i am a person who has a switch lite that i occasionally play indie games on and remastered retro games. if i was more into their new game library i might not be so bothered by the price
