The DK Challenge thing they've added on Switch 2 is cool. Loads up random levels from DK games for you to beat and then you get a virtual trading card to show you've done it. You can earn some by doing challenges in the newest DK game too if you own it. Nintendo really should just implement something like this as their own Achievements/Trophies system.

Been playing a bit of 2XKO. It's certainly a choice that Riot chose to make a tag fighter, when all logic dictates that a simpler 1v1 fighter would have made for a smoother transitions for the LoL audience. Game is interesting and has love put behind it, but the crackhead pace & the absolute degeneracy that comes with a tag fighter can be a lot to adjust to.

Frames are a made up concept. Everything can be safe or unsafe depending on your assist. Cross up city is a common destination depending on your team composition and how much you can puppet your assist. Damage is extremely high. Steeper learning curve - but all in all it's free and a fun time.

Is this a public beta or an actual release? I was following bits about it ages ago when Maximilian Dood would speak about it but fell off a while back.

Full game’s been out for a while now. Roster is growing. Hop on we’ll do some games I need to do 10 private games for a trophy.

I really tried to like 2xko, but the grind for unlocking characters and simple the combos are kinda made me go bleh on it. I have a love/hate relationship with League of Legends, but this definitely should've been a 1vs1 and not a tag fighter. It's already a niche genre of fighting game.

I'm fine with the simple inputs - just not something that has ever bothered me, despite the fact that I prefer motion inputs as an MK player and SF6 player, if the game is designed around it it's fine by me - it's just a bizarre choice to make it primarily a tag fighter if the game is designed around being easy to get into. What the simple inputs do is it makes it very easy to learn a BnB - every character has a simple L --> M ---> H ---> Special 1/Special 2 combo you can do, but there is still a lot of complexity with tag combos, hold inputs, micro dashing, etc. Some absolutely degenerate combos routes out there.

So the game is kind of stuck in this weird loophole where the inputs are easy, but there are a ton of mechanics to keep track of. Defense is complex (retreating block, push block, regular block, parry, low parry just on defense) and offense is very oppressive since you can have almost never ending pressure and block strings with assists, and you need to learn two characters at minimum to play the game optimally, on top of understanding how and when you should be using assists.

The steam machine is going to cost some hefty dollarinhos.

I'd love one but, I'm saving for my first home and once I get that, the problem of having no space which tips me towards Steam Machine instead of PC dissappears.

£800 or near enough? Get to fuck, Valve, I could buy another PS5 Pro for that and still have cash left over! Or I could give my little brother that money, and he'd build me something far more powerful.
