Thank you bud! I will no doubt be bragging about it (even if I've done a dreadful time LOL) for the rest of the year.
You're doing it on the last day of November, one month isn't enough. That means bragging gets to roll over well in to 2026.

I am INVINCIBLE!
Florence Marathon was amazing. Great views, amazing way to see so much of a historic city and really amazing atmosphere. Bands playing covers of classic rock songs along the route, DJs doing full sets as I crossed over bridges, people cheering nearly the whole way. Really loved it and all on such a beautiful sunny day in perfect temperatures too.
Will share more photos as they're uploaded, but for now, super giddy about how fun it was (although walking today is fucking impossible lmao)

Gonna try and start running again. It's a good way to actually get me up when I don't have work and it does start the day in a good way. Ran for 16 minutes this morning, not loads but I just hopped back on the Couch to 5K app but dialled it back a couple weeks from where I got to when I was doing it ages ago.
I don't actually know who the woman talking to me on the app is but she's very helpful. But also annoying when she interrupts my music.

I never knew you did running. What point did you get to on the Counch to 5K thing before?
I've been trying to eat healthier for just over a month now. Yesterday I had quinoa and broccoli soup. It was really nice, it had coconut milk, tumeric and lots of garlic in it so those were the dominant flavours. I'm trying to eat well in a more sustainable way so I can maintain it long term. I'm focusing on eating a lot of fibrous and protein heavy foods and cutting out all sugary snack foods.

I think I only got as far as running for 20 minutes straight, which was like 5 weeks of regular running. That was a long while ago now though, fell off when my girlfriend had to stop doing it for health reasons. Didn't think it'd last that long but she still doesn't feel up to running, but it kind of dawned on me that she actually has a gym membership and does other kinds of working out whereas I don't lmao
I've cut out snack foods right now as well. Doing it for lent but hope to have a more restrained attitude to it afterwards instead of eating an entire pack of biscuits in a day or two.

I used to love the treadmill but it currently fills me with existential dread for some reason. Needing the cardio and discovering (despite my complexion saying otherwise) I'm dependent on the sun for feeling some sort of happiness in any area of life, I've started walking. Yesterday being my 38th Birthday I went for a 38k walk.

When the weather gets better I'm going to join a local hiking / walking group.
One year and one kilometer later and I have almost exactly the same time, which is cool. It annoys me it's two walks because I stopped to chat with someone I hadn't seen in a while. I don't know how many years I can increase the distance relative to age but I'll worry about that later.

Due to an unexpected health-related issue I had to quit couch to 5k for about 2 and a half months, but I've started to get back into it now that I've recovered. I'm on week 6 at the moment, which was roughly where I was before I quit. Hoping to finally run 5K before May.

Me when Jo Whiley interrupts my music to tell me something other than how far through the run I am:
Me when Jo Whiley interrupts my music to tell me I'm halfway done:
I just finished Week 7 after starting it again from week 4 when I last posted. Was feeling quite satisfied up until recently but the last week has felt more like a chore honestly. I had work last week which meant I only managed one run and I think that made it feel harder to go back to for whatever reason.
Also they say health is wealth but I lost a charm I bought in Japan while running and despite it costing £3 out there it's listed for £50 here. How is that wealth?!

I've always felt like my stamina has dropped off really quickly with cardio even if I only stop for a brief period of time. Maybe it's psychological though.

Sure that some of you know I run with a run club every Wednesday, about 10km, ans have done for about 2.5 years now.
Recently, the club organiser decided to pull Wednesdays from the schedule, meaning only Sunday and Monday runs remain. Coincidentally, Monday is paid for as it's a track "coaching" session and Sundays frequently have sponsors. Basically, pulled the only session he doesn't profit from. 🤪 All this alongside a wanky manifesto about disrupting the norm and pushing boundaries.
I followed up immediately with a message basically saying I'm still doing Wednesday 10km runs, and anyone who wants should join. Got about 30 reactions lol, bricking it a bit this evening but I guess I'll be leading a break away run club on Wednesdays now...
Will let you all know how it goes tonight, and if it's disastrous or mildly successful.
