FFV is my fav so far. As weird as it is I actually think right now V > IV > VI

It's utterly insane how subjective this series can be. A testament to how good it is.

There's a thread on Resetera at the minute that's asking the younger members what type of things or views do they not get that a lot of the older people on the site often say or think. One thing that has come up on it repeatedly is people asking "what's all the fuss about Final Fantasy and why do people care about it so much" lol.

Fucking hell, that’s tier 1 rage bait. I mean I’ve always liked FF, but since going back to the old titles I feel like it’s becoming one of my fav game series of all time.

I mean I started with XIII (think you did too?) and I have a lot of love for it despite its flaws, but going from there through the rest of the series has been an amazing experience. Plus this run in hindsight is just incredible:

VII 1997
VIII 1999
IX 2000
X 2001

Nah VII was my first, I’ve had various play throughs over the years including watching my mate complete it but I need to play it through properly again.

XIII was the first time I engaged with it as an adult though so it was like a new entry point for me in a sense.

My first ff I played was 13. A long time ago I used to watch my ex play through most of them and I used to read the walkthroughs for him. Over the last 15 years I’ve worked my way through alot of them out of order, I know there’s no chronological order but yknow.

My favourite is 8. I fuck with the junction system hard even though it gets massive criticism from the fandom. 8, 6 and 10 are probably my top 3 ff games. I also really enjoyed 14(?) - the one with Noctis.

I’m half way through rebirth but I haven’t picked it up in a month or so since monster hunter came out. I’m probably going to have to restart the playthrough because after a little while I have no memory of what I was doing when I pick it back up ha.

Magic The Gathering are doing a Final Fantasy collab that's due out next month, they've been revealing artwork in droplets since the announcement but they did a big reveal yesterday and some of it is utterly stunning. They even got Yoshitaka Amano to do a few pieces (Terra and Kefka!!) and they're incredible. Nomura has done a superb Sephiroth too. I've been threatening to try MtG for a while but I can't resist this release.

Glad another fan is here to discuss stuff because I feel like I'm knee deep in an obsessive run at the moment, and only Nate's been keeping me warm.

Yeah, I saw this too. Do you know when it'll be released and where we can pre-order boxes from?

It's out next month but almost everything is gone and has been since very soon after preorders went up. It's already been confirmed as the best selling MtG set by some distance apparently. Some people said to me that most decks should get restocks before release but I'm not sure if that'll happen now but they said they will be restocked at various stages over the next 2-3 years then that'll be it. Feel bad now as I literally cancelled an order for the FFX deck yesterday as I had to cut mine down, guessing you would have wanted that and I could have kept it for you.

Actually Amazon Germany still have some of the VI and X decks available alongside a few other bits. The cheaper Play Booster packs should be easily findable from release. HMV sell them here so maybe they'll have decks instore in the UK on release?
