I've started reading Howl's Moving Castle as a cinema I'm a member of has a book to film reading club and that's their book for the month. I'm a big fan of the film so this should be interesting and I feel like it'll hopefully be a fun thing to do as I've never been part of a reading group (outside of uni I guess). It's been a long time since I've even tried to read some longform prose so my attention span is likely #shot but I read the first few chapters before bed the other day and I'm already finding it interesting how differently it starts.

Also reading Terry Pratchett's Hogfather alongside @Jassassino this month to get into the xmas spirit. Maybe you could read it too if you've got a gap in your reading schedule!

Leelee adores the movie so I got her the lovely Folio edition of the book a couple of years back. Have to ask her how she found it as I'm curious about it too.

I'm just over halfway through and I've been enjoying it but the last chapter jumped the shark for me a little bit.

They reveal that Howl comes from real-world modern day Wales and is called Howell? Incredibly strange and honestly a little bit immersion breaking almost lmao. It's a trope I suppose. The original Fullmetal Alchemist has them go to real world Germany somehow which sounds equally as disorienting for the story.
