I've been reading the original Ian Fleming 007 books. Since I'm a huge fan of the movies but never delved into the books before. I've finished: Casino Royale, Live and Let Die and Moonraker. Currently reading Diamonds Are Forever. They're ok but nothing spectacular. I can't help but feel like they would've faded into obscurity if it hadn't taken of as a film series. They're also pretty sexist and racist at times which can make them tough to get through. There's a chapter in Live and Let Die that's actually called "Ni**er Heaven"
But it is pretty interesting to see how they differ from the movies. They mostly kept the stories in tact from what I've read, expect for Moonraker which is nothing like the movie. I'll try to stick with them, which should be easy enough because they're quite short. It's kind of annoying though since most book stores in my city don't seem to have them, I've had to buy all of them online so far
