Annoyed because I only just finally bought a Switch and fuck knows when I'll have spare funds for a Switch 2.

I've been wanting to play Elden Ring but I'm worried I won't have the free time to give it the love it deserves

That's where I'm at with Elden Ring as well. Been telling myself "Wait till it's on sale" for years now, sale comes around and my plate is still full.

In the minority but I didn't dig ER. Adore the Souls games (especially 1) but just didn't find ER fun or enjoyable. Think I much prefer the more intimate design of Souls maps and dungeons.

Ohhhh interesting

I wonder if I'll feel the same way then? Sometimes I get over open world games pretty easily.

I did try Bloodborne ages ago but never properly delved in, might be time to give that another crack?

I enjoyed Bloodborne but never finished it. Tried replaying it recently on PS5 but it's an awful experience on it.

Fuck, well that's a bummer to hear

Not sure I'm bothered digging my PS4 out of storage to play it
You should Bloodbourne is my favourite of all of them. The story and themes are incredible. I've lost countless hours to lore videos and playthroughs.

That makes sense to me. To me it sounds like a very brutal and darker Breath of the Wild tbh, which doesn't sound unappealing to me but I see how that's not necessarily the vibe for the more seasoned Souls player.

Didn't 100% finish Bloodborne, but having it be my first Souls game (which, as I understand it, isn't recommended) made my first run of DS1 Remastered a lot of fun.

I also second what Cardboard Jesus said, Bloodborne's atmosphere is impeccable. Would kill for some kind of sequel/continuation in its world. Shit even just a PC re-release would be nice, at the moment the only option for that is to emulate the PS4. Took almost 20 years for both PS2 and 3 emulation to be viable on a gaming PC, don't even want to try a PS4 right now.
Bloodborne is the only one I've really been able to get into and finish out of the FromSoftware games. I've also preferred the Nioh games by Team Ninja to their games (besides Bloodborne).
Elden Ring is one of the few games I've unlocked every acheivement for. My first playthrough was I think 125~130 hours...DLC was another 45 or so.

I like the Dark Souls trilogy more I think, but they're both good for different reasons.
I got into DS1 shortly after it came out. Tried it, dropped it for like 4 years, and then came back one day and finished it in a week. Went on to play every Soulsborne game except for 2. Still can't get myself to finish 2.
Similar story with Sekiro, played it for the first time right when I moved to Japan, and only played it again to completion right before I came back to the States.

Bloodborne has got to be my favorite game of all time in terms of aesthetics and thematics. I have a huge tattoo on my chest that has part of Lady Maria's bossfight lyrics, lol
DS2, especially with the three DLCs, does take an age to beat.
