womp womp  It was the same thing when I saw them in October 2010, literally the only bad thing about what is otherwise the best live gig I've ever been to.

Just happy to tick them off the list as that was a price I won't pay again and getting home from the Co-Op Live is a nightmare for me vs AO Arena. I have a ticket for them for tomorrow night and can't figure out whether to go or sell. I used to adore them but it has been many years since that time and I'm not quite sure how much of Is This It and Room On Fire will be played (plus a little of FIOE) without checking the setlist which I don't want to do. I listened to a bit of the newest album and did not like it at all. I keep chickening out of standing gigs because of my back troubles but I'm also wary like @ Dirty Duck that I have a lot of expenses coming up and perhaps this shouldn't be a priority.

Fuck it I'm here and looking forward to it. Feels so weird after so many years given how regularly I used to attend gigs and never really got back to it after Covid.

Not sure if we had the same first support but the opening to one of their songs was "Jesus never did a porno, Jesus never did cocaine" and it went on and on. Had a great time though, really didn't expect so many songs from the first 3 albums. Feel like I'm back.

I had a great setlist as well. 4 songs from the latest album is plenty, I saw Placebo who played 11 out of 13 tracks on the new album them absolute twats. My only complaint was Julian trying to do audience interaction, it was painful. Just stand there, look cool and aloof and sing. You're not built for that.

@ Wayno Julian seemed quite relaxed here which was nice, he tried to interact then repeatedly berated himself for wandering off down tangents and got back to it. The last time I saw them was 15 years ago when he was at odds and ends with the rest of the band and was reportedly pretty much not on any speaking terms whatsoever. Still was a good show but you could really feel it on the stage and it was uncomfortable. This felt really different. I always enjoy gigs far more when you can tell a band is feeling good and seem to be having fun, I remember Primal Scream years ago was the best example of it for me as they seemed to be having a blast. I had another listen to the new album yesterday and it's annoying because I actually think I quite like a lot of the tracks, but the autotune absolutely destroys any enjoyment I get out of it.

Got the mighty INTERPOL co-headlining with BLOC PARTY at the Utilita in just under a month. Struggling to contain my excitement, I've already seen Interpol, but I've never seen Bloc Party, and I've been a fan of theirs since 05 and Silent Alarm. Looking at recent setlists, I'll be hearing a lot of "Silent Alarm" and "A Weekend in the City". But if they play Love Bombs, I cannot and will not be held accountable for my actions; that song just does something to me.
