I wanted to get an idea of who was getting this and who's skipping it. I've been really contemplating giving it a miss as I'm so annoyed about the digital only aspect of it. But i'd be lying if I said that was going to be easy for me. I can't even reliably boycott corporations for funding human rights atrocities, never mind for destroying physical media.  Cookie Monster

Same feelings as you. I was really excited for it then the news about the distribution of this really soured me on it for a few months. I'm still sour. Sony's announcement not long after softened the blow of this to an extent, as R* had to have known and figured it didn't make sense to go with a disc release given lots will be playing this well into the PS6 / next Xbox's lifetimes.

Regardless, yeah, I'm too weak to pass it up. The showcase was decent, nothing in the story or about the characters stood out to me. Jason seems boring, Lucia seems OK but nothing special so far but its early days. But that being said I haven't really liked a GTA protagonist a lot since CJ in San Andreas. I just want a big sandbox to fuck around in and there's nothing better than GTA for that, so yeah I'll be there. I'll be bitter for a lot of reasons but I'll be there.

I've not played a GTA game since Vice City Stories on the PSP and I won't be getting this one. It's never truly appealed to me as a series since I just used to fuck about on GTA 1 and 2 as a kid and I was always playing something else when 4 and 5 were released to ever give up time to play them. Probably a combination of Football Manager, various CoD's/ Battlefields and Pokemon Roms tbh.

But I am massively interested in how this things goes because it's a massive deal. To me GTA is like Hulk Hogan (hear me out). Hogan was bigger than wrestling, people who never watched it knew who he was. People who do not game or have not gamed in decades know GTA. They know GTA VI is a big deal. It's going to shatter every metric in gaming and this is arguably the biggest moment in gaming in quite sometime (I don't think it's hyperbole to argue potentially the biggest launch ever). I'll be keeping an eye out for stories on console units shifted because people will buy consoles jist to play this. But with the no physical media fiasco and this being a game with no involvement from Dan Hauser since the first time in forever and having lost other key figures this is a massive moment for Rockstar regardless of how much bank they're going to make. They don't have to just release a good game, they *have* to top GTA V.

I'll be getting it. If only because FOMO is one of my biggest character flaws.

I mean, I have loved GTA in the past, and I have no doubts this will be excellent. San Andreas is an all-timer.
