Looking at what's playing at my local theatre, the only one I've seen is Backrooms. It wasn't bad if you're into that kind of thing.

I went into the new Spider-Man with incredibly low expectations. MCU generally has been plateauing since phase 521, the trailers from this film were super vague and it overall felt like they were shitting out a new Spider-Man movie because Spider-Man is popular and guaranteed to make money.

So imagine my surprise when this turned out to actually be very good. Might actually be the best Tom Holland Spider-Man film so far, which admittedly isn't a very high bar. I don't think people view NWH as favourably any more now that the novelty of Maguire/Garfield/Dafoe has worn off.

Reviews generally seem to be decent across the board. I'm not a big Marvel fan, I binged a bunch of them a good while back with the missus as she liked them and I was curious but we got all the way up to Black Panther and both got quite tired of them. I saw F4 last year and thought it was much the same. But my son loves Spider-Man so I might try get through the other Holland movies with him and bring him in a few weeks if he's interested. Problem is we watched Raimi's SM a few weeks back so it might confuse him. He enjoyed it but got a bit scared at basically every scene with Willem Dafoe lol.

Rewatched Call Me By Your Name last night. Last time I watched it was probably like 10 years ago or something [edit: that's not right given it came out in 2017, maybe like 8 years ago then?]. Such a good movie, so well paced and I had forgotten most of the finer details. Will have to catch it in theatre some time, my favourite cinema does showings of it every now and again as I'm pretty sure they said it was their most successful/requested movie ever so it nearly always sells out whenever it comes back.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. The more I think about it, the more I actually think it's a pretty excellent film. Genuinely think it's a top tier Spider-Man film, alongside the two Spiderverse films and Spider-Man 2 of course.
