The reviews for MK II are a bit all over the place. I'll watch it eventually but I kind of don't forgive them for the decisions in MK I. Cole was awful, there was no tournament and the stuff when Scorpion and Sub Zero at the beginning was so good that it should have been the entire movie.

I can't wait for the goofy shit in Street Fighter later in the year.

I never actually got around to MK I. I intended to watch it with my friend I grew up playing Mortal Kombat with but I don't think I've sat and watched a non-child friendly film with him since he's had kids lmao

Yeah Street Fighter looks like a lot of fun. Will defo try and catch that one in the cinema.

Anyone gone and seen the Backrooms? I quite enjoy the youtube channel Kane Parsons made. And seeing his filming style on the big screen was really cool. I know the film isn't exactly the best kind of entry but it can be viewed without ever seeing any of Kane Parsons' other work.

I watched it as a double feature with Obsession. Definetely the weakest of the two, but it's okay-ish overall. Visually striking but empty otherwise.

Thought Backrooms was such a deeply boring and disappointing film with an active lack of interesting characters whatsoever, real development (plot or otherwise) or even any aesthetic level to make me at least leave the cinema feeling inspired. Hokum out of the trio of horror films released in the same timeframe deserved the number 2 spot alongside Obsession really, but it flew totally under the radar.
