MCU generally has been plateauing since phase 521, the trailers from this film were super vague and it overall felt like they were shitting out a new Spider-Man movie because Spider-Man is popular and guaranteed to make money.
So imagine my surprise when this turned out to actually be very good. Might actually be the best Tom Holland Spider-Man film so far, which admittedly isn't a very high bar. I don't think people view NWH as favourably any more now that the novelty of Maguire/Garfield/Dafoe has worn off.
Reviews generally seem to be decent across the board. I'm not a big Marvel fan, I binged a bunch of them a good while back with the missus as she liked them and I was curious but we got all the way up to Black Panther and both got quite tired of them. I saw F4 last year and thought it was much the same. But my son loves Spider-Man so I might try get through the other Holland movies with him and bring him in a few weeks if he's interested. Problem is we watched Raimi's SM a few weeks back so it might confuse him. He enjoyed it but got a bit scared at basically every scene with Willem Dafoe lol.
