What games do you refuse to play despite overwhelming critical acclaim?

I didn't think I had one to post in this thread really but I guess despite what everyone is saying about how their games are more meaningful than people's own mothers I haven't actually got any Bioware game's near the top of my list. I'm sure they are good. People have recommended them to me since my teens. I just don't care that much. *keiv shrug*

God of War Ragnarok is a very solid game but is a definite step down from the first.

I enjoyed Ragnarok more than GoW. GoW was fine but I didn't find it very fun to play. GoW had better bosses though I think? Been a long time since I played it. Ragnarok's final boss was very underwhelming.

This feels like the minority take, but I'm in agreement for reasons I struggle to articulate. I'd have to replay both GoW 2018 and Ragnarok back to back to gather my thoughts but for whatever reason, I just found Ragnarok to be more engaging.

As for Mass Effect, never played them. Never wanted to play them, but also never not wanted to play them. They just exist as games that I may or may not dip my toes into one day.

Ah yeah GOW and Ragnarok. Idk, really not interested in the pair, but the original games for PS2/PSP? Would love to play them. Had an absolute blast with Chains of Olympus on the PSP and thought it was really unique feeling at the time.

Yeah i'm just not going to play new GoW. Whenever I look at it I think of a 2 bed new build apartment on a 25 year leasehold mortgage, hoppy IPAs, furbabies, beard oils, a "gaming bar" adorned with Marvel posters... it's just not for me. Honestly the series has always been mid, the PSP games were the best since the gameplay is simple enough to not need many buttons.

To echo some other opinions in this thread, I found RDR2 to be a completely vapid exercise in superficial details, in a world you can't interact with in any meaningful way. Couldn't finish it. I have however become more tolerant in old age and can understand why people might like it, if you play it like a JRPG where the gameplay is a formality and you're just there for the vibes.

Never played a BioWare RPG. The concept of role playing in video games has always eluded me. Like, I just play as me. I look at the game with my eyes and derive any enjoyment I can through the character of myself.

The universal praise for Nintendo's annual bing bing wahoo never fails to baffle me. I have nothing but respect for SMB1 and SM64, but this franchise and company have been a borderline cult for a long time now.

I won't play remakes. RE4 was just about acceptable since they changed all the level design, but I still felt like i'd rather be playing either original RE4 or an entirely new game.

And finally Half Life 2 was overhyped and I never finished it. The first was better.

You are COOKING with all of these, apart from the remake one.

I feel like we've all just turned this thread into the "unpopular gaming opinions" thread! (I'm enjoying that though.)

So far no one has said anything right I’m afraid

Just listened to a bunch of so called gamers openly admit they haven’t played one of the best game series of all time

Shocking, sickening, revolting
