What are you watching?

I haven't read many of the comics and I wasn't really interested in those characters but it was a lot of fun, the 60's futuristic style was really neato as well, it was a lot better to see than the standard MCU setting of "mordern day but slightly more advanced" that all those movies seem to have...
I saw it last week! I liked it too (gave it 4/5 on letterboxd).
Felt like a theater kid cause I really liked the aesthetic and set design (and that just feels like a thespian thought to have, lol).

Silver Surfer and the major actions scenes were the stand outs for me. Felt a little joyless but I think that was intentional. (I think I ultimately liked the new Superman a hair more).

Hope to see the new Naked Gun on Friday.

I'd say I liked the new Superman more as well. People online seem to be treating both movies as a double feature which is cool. I was getting a bit sick of the Marvel vs DC mindset everyone has. Why can't people just like both and not have to debate over a preference?

I'm excited for Naked Gun as well but it's still 2 weeks away for Aus. I showed my girlfriend the first 3 in preparation for it.
I'd seen the first countless times but not so much 2 and 3. 2 is almost as good as one, but 3 was a bit too dumb, but still good

I'm excited to see Naked Gun too lmao. I actually only recently rewatched Airplane and I've love to see a mini renaissance of that kind of dumb silly humour in cinema/action comedy again.

The first trailer for Naked Gun had me interested but the ones after it had me a little hesitant, although I think it was probably because the humour in those seemed quite US-centric. It's receiving great reviews which has surprised me so I hope I'll enjoy it, not sure when it's actually out here.

I kinda thought the same thing but it still looked funny enough.

The original isn't exactly high brow humour so I don't really have high expectations in the first place. I do feel a bit bad for Liam Neeson though because Leslie Nielsen is a tough act to follow for this sort of movie

I'll be watching it at some point this month. I adored the original Naked Gun movies as a kid so much I convinced my dad we should go watch Spy Hard. After Weird Al leaves the screen the movie becomes unwatchable.

I'm going to say something controversial here; I've watched the first two Indiana Jones films back to back for the first time yesterday and today (Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom) and I thought both were a bit...mid?

Maybe these kind of archaeological romps were GOATed in the 80s and I'm just a little gamer boy who's had it too good with Tomb Raider and Uncharted, but this ain't hitting like I wanted it to. I'll watch Last Crusade just to say I've seen the original trilogy, but I can't say I'll bother with the 2 actual bad ones.

I’ve seen the middle to end of Last Crusade dozens of times on TV but realised a few years ago I’d not seen the start…ever. Lmao. But I think it’s great. I watched the first one and thought it was p neat and haven’t seen the second really. I enjoyed the new one!

Thought F4 was fine, not really much that stood out to me. Honestly felt most of the abilities of the F4 were underused, probably excepting the human torch, same for Galactus.

Last Crusade is the best.

I've been off work sick the last few days so I finally cracked open the Sean Connery 007 4K set. I watched Dr. No and From Russia With Love yesterday, then Goldfinger and Thunderball today. I'd seen them a million times but the 4K scans look really good. I'll watch You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever soon, but I never liked those ones as much.
I know it doesn't star Sean Connery, but I feel like On Her Majesty's Secret Service should've been included in the set, since it takes place between YOLT and DAF. And it'd also play hell with my OCD if they bring out 4k sets for the rest of the actors but OHMSS is the only one in a single blu ray case
