Would be big if true. Fox Hunt as a mode on a proper MGO could be great, with customisable characters again. It definitely needed some polish, the gunplay was horrible in it somehow?

The slow, clunky movement makes sense in single player. But might have been a slog in a proper MP game. Even what we got made it seems like it's too sluggish.
I'm not so hopeful on it being a test for a new MGO. The devs and Konami in general made it very clear that they think the modern online landscape wouldn't be suitable for anything like MGO or MGO2 anymore and they can't even nail down crossplay in 2026 for co-op missions in a game, nor did they really get what made MGO/MGO2 unique looking at a lot of decisions around things like weapons, cosmetics and maps in FoxHunt. They have a long, long way to go before they could take on something like that.
