(04-11-2025, 09:05 AM)Dirty Duck Wrote: [ -> ]Had my first solo GA-KO (is that mode called intrude?) win last night. Nate died early on because he's terrible. I managed to get through most of the rounds by the skin of my teeth; I had some good gear at points but kept getting killed and losing it so for the final round I only had a basic weapons and no items. I got to the zone first but didn't activate the GA-KO. I instead laid on top of a container with AT-Flower equipped to look like some creeping foliage and let everyone else amass and activate it. Nobody noticed me and it went into overtime with three other players inside the zone. After the firefight I finally stood up and took out the sole survivor. Sent out a snarky thumbs up to add insult to injury.

When stuff comes together the mode is a lot of fun-but the combat needs a lot of work still imo. It feels sluggish to me. Not that I want the headshot-favouring level of MGO2 but yeah.

How rude
Last night, I had some of the best matches I've ever had. Multiple instances of me pulling our team to victory or saving my buddy, like having four Kerotans and being able to spare one when my buddy got killed. Or me sneaking my way towards a firefight in the final phase, killing my rival all match long with two seconds to spare and winning a sudden death with the last two remaining players.

All of it because I keep opting to hide in plain sight instead of trying to kill other players. Yeah, I can say definitively that this is my favorite iteration of Metal Gear multiplayer yet. Now, I just hope that they add that new map, some of those new modes and the new skins so I can play as Volgin and The Pain. Or finally look as pretty as I feel by playing as The End.
Definitely feel like the tranquiliser weapons are overpowered, or at least the impact of them is (likely because most of the time you're sitting with a half bar of stamina unless you're lying still with rations pocketed). I had one the other day and was basically untouchable, and yesterday I had a game where two opponents had them and I was down in a couple of seconds every time they saw me.

feel like Naked Sense ensures people are constantly low on stamina too. It's a bit of a crux.

I've just read someone saying that Naked Sense has been tweaked and that it almost immediately detects people now. Not going to get to see it in action for a few days but I don't dig the sound of that at all.
Apparently the rank based matchmaking when searching solo has been removed. That will help with numbers a bit but it's a bit mad they're clearly having issues already.

Hmmm seems a bit odd, especially so early on when ranks should have been condensed anyway. Numbers must not be good.
I've gotten network errors in half a dozen matches this evening. Don't seem to get a single lick of exp when that happens despite the system knowing how far you got? Maybe I'm wrong but it's been very frustrating

EDIT:

Ideal, really
Managed to get some more games in yesterday evening. Managed to win a couple of rounds (not because of me lol) because I had some great teammates. At the same time that made me realize how shit I’m at this game lol🫣

Anyways, it was very fun, and the final rounds on the cabin map of was really intense and nervewrecking with how small and dense the map is. But what caughr my eye this evening was how many times I saw the same names in multiple matches in a row. Surely can’t be a good sign that I kept playing against the same players several matches in a row…

I thought exactly the same last time I played. Same names popping up all the time. It also kind of kills the fun if some of these players are a much higher skill level than you and so you're just getting your ass handed to you. Thankfully where sneaking wins the game for you I can still progress but the final fire fight was consistently being won by a particular set of players who kept reappearing.
