The Legend of Zelda

This series obviously needs its own thread and no (Ocarina of) time like the present.

Are Nintendo cooked? Seems baffling that a single console generation after Breath of the Wild rethought what a Zelda game could be they're scurrying back to the N64 era with their "new" entry.

I love OOT, but unless the speculation that this is an entire reimagining with totally new ideas, areas, story beats (maybe even Fem-Link?) is true, I'd rather just have OOT 3D ported to Switch tbh.

Actually even if that is true I'd probably rather just have 3D ported anyway still.

I'm gonna copy what I posted about remaking Sonic Adventure elsewhere because I think it rings true to Zelda as well:

I think a modern take on the Adventure Ocarina of Time formula would be great. I don't think we need a redo of Adventure Ocarina of Time itself. I feel like Sonic Zelda as a franchise shouldn't ever give in to the temptation of remaking entries in any larger way than what Taxman the 3DS remake did to the classic N64 games. Keep them playable but don't modernise them to the point that their spirit is transmogrified, just make a new Sonic Zelda game if you want new Sonic Zelda ideas or gameplay elements.
