Physint
#1
"Physint (working title), a portmanteau of physical intelligence, is an upcoming stealth action video game being developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, set to be released for the PlayStation platform."

Heard about this sometime early last year, but didn't have a Metal Gear forum at the time to talk about it.

Supposedly this is Kojima's next project after DS2, a "spiritual successor to Metal Gear", complete with the "tactical espionage" subtitle.
I did a few minutes of browsing on the name just now, and it seems like it's been total silence since I first heard about it. So nothing new yet, and there likely won't be for a long time. We all remember that long road to the release of MGSV and the insane theories we all came up with in the years prior, I'm sure.

^a reddit post going over it, including the article PCG put out.

^and a Tweet from the Big Man himself.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet on the forum, so I'm curious as to what everyone thinks. Part of me feels like it's too good to be true, and it'll be dead in the water before we get a chance to reel it in. Maybe I'm just being cynical. I hope I am.

January, 2024. There hasn't been a peep since, and besides a short interview with Kojima (I haven't been able to find any substantial evidence of this interview other than an article saying "in an interview") and his own tweet, there isn't much to go on. We'll have to wait until after DS2 comes out to hear anything else about it, I figure.

Very excited to see what Kojima does with stealth action without any of the “expectations” that come with an MGS game.

I’m one of the people that does think Kojima is a brilliant creator and I’m super excited that we have 3 different projects all with totally different vibes coming from him. We get a spiritual PT successor, spiritual MGS successor, and the worlds second fucking strand game baby

I'm reluctant to have any expectations or hopes for this until I see something concrete on it. The announcement felt like it was advertising a movie more than a game and I'm always a bit sceptical of anything like this especially given how much Kojima seems like he just wants to work with Hollywood actors now.

This is going to be some absolutely hokey new age shit with some weird live action gimmick and i'm low key here for it - because you just know that for better or worse it won't be normal.

Kojima has been personally done with Metal Gear since MGS2. This is going to be interesting, no matter what comes of it.

Pros: Kojima is not constrained by MG

Cons: Kojima is not constrained by MG

I'm excited but his strike out with Death Stranding bored me to tears so I don't know if Kojima post-MG still got it. I guess if DS2 pans out better than the first one (which isn't a high bar, in fairness) then I might be a bit more optimistic.

Aragorn you just have speedy bang bang brainrot and that's why you can't handle Death Stranding or a FF that isn't XVI. (This is not to claim what you like is bad. Just that what you don't like is also good.)

I kind of like that he's getting the sort of aesthetically similar things like nuSnake and notMetal Gear out of his system in DS2 to pass comment on them because it means this game should hopefully have a good level of visual difference from MGS.

People really log on here and try to tell you this was the pinnacle of video games as an art form
