BULUP , listen to me. He didn't betray the forums. No... far from it. He was a hero who died for his cause. He carried out his mission knowing full well what was going to happen.

Self-sacrifice... Because that was his duty.

Bread’s joining MGL was a ruse set up by MGSF. It was all a big drama staged by Duck so they could get their hands on the forums.

And Bread was the star of the show. They planned it so that they could get the members that MGL inherited... and destroy MGL at the same time.

Only a legendary member like Bread could have earned Kal’s trust. Finding out what would make the forum implode was to be his greatest mission.

Everything was going according to plan. But then something happened that no one could have predicted. Trump was elected a second time. British members demanded that American members provide proof that they weren’t involved. They couldn't just abort the operation to steal MGL’s members. So the operation itself was greatly expanded and revised.

The authorities in MGL knew that in order to prove its innocence they'd have to get rid of Dirty Duck... and that one of their own would have to do the job. The public couldn't be allowed to find out about it... not ever. This, they concluded, would be the best way to keep the whole thing under wraps. Dirty Duck wouldn't be allowed to come back home unbanned. And he wouldn't be allowed to ban himself. His life would be ended by his most beloved disciple...

That was the way MGSF wanted it. That was the mission Bread was given. And he had no choice but to carry it out.

Duck’s death at Kal’s hands was a duty Bread had to fulfill. Out of duty, he turned his back on his own forum. A lesser man would have been crushed by such a burden.

The taint of disgrace will follow him to his grave. Future members will revile him.

On MGL, as a despicable traitor with no sense of honor. And on MGF, as a monster who unleashed a forum meltdown. He will go down in official history as a forum criminal. And no one will ever understand him.

That... was his final mission. And like a true soldier, he saw it through to the end.

But I think he wanted you of all people to know the truth. He wanted to live on in your memory. Not as a question-asker, but as a member. But he was forbidden to tell you himself. And that's why he told me.

BULUP, history will never know what he did. No one will ever learn the truth. His story... his debriefing... will endure only in your heart. Everything he did, he did for his forum. He sacrificed his life and his honor for his forum’s future.

He was a real hero.

He was a true twat.

Man leave it to some bonafide forum drama to really get Duck's creative juices flowing.

That is some Grade A quality shitposting Max. Chef's kiss.

The idea of banning political discussion on an MGS forum is absolutely bizarre to me.

But then again I did start my mod career running the opinion forum, so I may be biased.

Someone clearly doesn't realise that Metal Gear Solid isn't political.

Probably don't think Rage Against the Machine is political either.

I had no idea it even shut down until Wayno invited me to this one. I didn't check in very often so I'm really out of the loop

Truthfully I should have just instituted a hardline no MGL discussion rule from the get go instead of taking it as it came, that’s on me for putting more trust into this community than I should have. Unfortunately, here we are and everyone has to let you know exactly how they feel once the snowball gets rolling and that’s not the vibe we’re going for here.

I think it's genuinely one of my favourite copy pastas of all time and I love that it's truly a unique little artefact exclusive to this community/Wandering Motherbase Soldiers.

Who said that, it's tickling my memory banks but I can't place it.
