I have SotFS on Steam and it's just... Agony. It's my understanding that SotFS changes up a lot of enemy placements to make them irritating and difficult on purpose (the way they made the Shaded Woods an absolute slog comes to mind) and I think I'd be more inclined to finish if I had a copy of the original release.

Shaded woods are a pain. Especially the mist and the ghosts.  Undecided

EDIT:

tr0nic enjoying the wayback machine?  Big Grin

Wayno I saw your post on MGSF linking here. Seeing as I'm still a big deal on a dead forum, I stickied it so it won't be buried by spam bots.

Haha yeah kinda. Smoking a cigarette and reminiscing on what little I can still remember about MGSF from 2011-13. And looking at old posts, and dying a little inside.

Crazy to see Freeman saying normal, rational things in the Ferguson Riots thread, and me calling for violent revolution in the streets lmao.

Freeman's switch-around was a world record speedrun for far right radicalisation. The man just woke up one day and his entire world view changed.

At the end of the day though...

Funny thing is you were right. Honestly hindsight is 20/20 but Freeman being a fascist wasn’t entirely out of left field - he was reactionary on Palestine, reactionary on Syria, outside of medicare and the usual Bernie Bro platform was pretty economically right aligned. Just goes to show that stab a liberal and a fascist bleeds.

Re: DSII: best Dark Souls game.

Man seriously. It's always the opinions on brown people that get them to show their ass--Kal complaining about "illegals" getting "handouts" from Dems was another telltale moment back on MGL.

Found this absolutely legendary post by Dirty Duck  in the old org chat

"Aphex, listen to me. He didn't betray the Anti-Brony movement. No... far from it. He was a hero who died for his cause. He carried out his mission knowing full well what was going to happen.

Self-sacrifice... Because that was his duty.

Duck's defection was a ruse set up by The Philosopher's leaders. It was all a big drama staged by Henry so they could get their hands on GRU's members.

And Duck was the star of the show. They planned it so that they could get the members that Kestrel inherited... and destroy GRU at the same time.

Only a legendary member like Dirty Duck could have earned GRU's trust. Finding out what the members desires were was to be his greatest mission.

Everything was going according to plan. But then something happened that no one could have predicted. Tollhouse posted an Outer Heaven-endorsed pony joke in Organisation Chat. Org Chatters demanded that OH provide proof that it wasn't involved. They couldn't just abort the operation to steal GRU's members. So the operation itself was greatly expanded and revised.

The authorities in OH knew that in order to prove its innocence they'd have to get rid of Dirty Duck... and that one of their own would have to do the job. The public couldn't be allowed to find out about it... not ever. This, they concluded, would be the best way to keep the whole thing under wraps. Dirty Duck wouldn't be allowed to come back home unbanned. And he wouldn't be allowed to ban himself. His life would be ended by his most beloved disciple...

That was the way OH wanted it. That was the mission he was given. And he had no choice but to carry it out.

His death at your hands was a duty he had to fulfill. Out of duty, he turned his back on his own forum. A lesser man would have been crushed by such a burden.

The taint of disgrace will follow him to his grave. Future members will revile him.

In Org Chat, as a despicable traitor with no sense of honor. And in OH, as a monster who unleashed an Organisation catastrophe. He will go down in official history as an org criminal. And no one will ever understand him.

That... was his final mission. And like a true leader, he saw it through to the end.

But I think he wanted you of all people to know the truth. He wanted to live on in your memory. Not as a moderator, but as a Duck. But he was forbidden to tell you himself. And that's why he told me.

Aphex, history will never know what he did. No one will ever learn the truth. His story... his debriefing... will endure only in your heart. Everything he did, he did for his org. He sacrificed his life and his honor for his rebranded org.

He was a real hero.

He was a true twat."
