Getting parcels delivered or collected feels like an anxiety ridden nightmare now, I had something just left on our front door to our flat complex before by Hermes (yeah they're called Evri now but they're still all the same lmao) and without a ring or anything. Obviously got nicked and just caused a headache for me to get a refund.

I didn’t remember putting my phone number in when booking so I wrote a note on the front of the gate to the building with my number saying “Flat 4 UPS” it’s now 7:25 when the delivery time is 8:00am-8:00pm.

I look in the postbox at the front gate and they’ve posted me the shipping label and written “No phone!”

At first I’m like well how did he miss the note? But then I realise my number is also ON the shipping label. This mf is making deliveries without a phone?!

They’re no Great Deliverer I can tell you that much.

That’s fucking infuriating

I swear with the increase of delivery and pick up jobs it feels like anyone’s getting hired for those jobs these days so you can just get the job while being an absolute pleb without a functional brain

My absolute favourite is when I stay in during the allotted time and I get an email saying “sorry you wasn’t in” while I’m sat about 8 feet away from my door

I really hate this shit. I love ordering stuff from a place that has an option to choose shipping partners, sometimes an extra €3-€5 spent on it makes a massive difference.

Yeah I wish eBay especially let you do that, too many non-refundable purchases on that site which will be shipped by Evri lmao.

We don't have Hermes/Evri here but we have Fastway which are basically the same. Only positive with them is that Leelee had so many issues with them over time that she repeatedly gave their customer service a bollocking over the way they deal with packages (damage, being left outside or just not being delivered at all) that a guy from the company calls her any time any package with them is arriving (doesn't matter whose name it is under) to ensure someone will be there. 😆

When I worked at Regatta very briefly, most of my time was spent chasing Hermes asking where the absolute fuck their drivers put the parcel.

I asked my manager why do we use them and she said they offer to do it at such a lower rate than other firms it's worth the risk of a potential hit to reputation. We'd always provide a free DPD delivery code if things went really badly.

That’s the thing really, they make the services dirt cheap and pay the workers like shit and it just results in a terrible service but tons of profit for them

It's the very definition of pay peanuts get monkeys and I don't blame the drivers too much. To a certain extent.

It’s Amazon drivers I tend to have the most issues with. A few times I’ve caught them on the camera literally throwing my package up the front door and walking off - they don’t know what I’ve bought and if it’s fragile or not so I don’t know why they’re chucking it up the door like the extra 2 seconds to place it in my safe place (literally right next to the door in the utility cupboard) is the difference between their kids eating or not.

My local evri driver is sound though, had no issues with her.

Years ago when it was still Hermes we had a solid dude, got the point he'd stop knocking and just open the door if we were in and drop off the package lmao

I miss you Fabio

I’ve ordered my copy of Death Stranding 2 to my girlfriends to avoid any of this sort of bullshit. Hopefully the operation goes off without a hitch.
