Don’t worry Nate I’m like EVA now-I may seem to once again be little more than a Western dog, but my true allegiance lies with China.

Most notably this gay pride Chinese cat sticker I saw in an elevator leading to a club on the 20th floor of a tower block:

One day BK you’ll have to realise that despite what the government tells you people can be communists even without any red in their avatar. These are unprecedented times we live in.
It was really great! Saw a lot of cities and a lot of cool stuff. Ate lots of good food. Saw lots of cute animals (pandas-both giant and red). Had a brush with the Chinese police twice. 10/10.

Some pretty wild news, turns out there was a murder down the road from me 2 nights ago

I was driving home from the shops and saw police cars and crime scene tape around this house. When I got home I searched the common news websites and found this video.

Neighbours claimed to have seen the accused standing on the driveway for long periods of time which I can corroborate. A lot of the time when me or my girlfriend drove by, we'd see the same guy just standing at the end of the driveway, staring at us going by. He wouldn't even be smoking or doing anything in particular which rang alarm bells in our heads. We always got creepy vibes from him and it turns out he'd go on to be a murderer.

BULUP I don't want to make light of something that's clearly quite unnerving happening on your road but

The first time I took a photo of me pointing at the portrait of Chairman Mao in Tiananmen Square and then a police officer stopped me as my friend and I were walking away. He took the phone and was looking at the photo and one by one more and more police officers came until there was like 8 of them. None of them spoke English until a final officer came over. It became apparent that they all were debating whether or not I was flipping Mao off in the photo. It really did look like that so I was like 'I really see why you'd think that. But I'm not.' After some back and forth and deliberation he gave the phone back and said to the others 'bù shuō zì míng' which was essentially him saying 'it's self-evident!' and having a go at the gaggle of police who couldn't tell it was my index finger.
Second time I was cycling through Shanghai and was sticking with some scooter drivers as it felt the safest way to tell where to go on the massive roads. Only they all skipped a red light, and I followed them straight through it lmao. They all drove off but the police stopped me and took my passport number.

He entered the country with good intentions to the glorious leader, alas he was led to a life of crime by local scooter gangs

I would be so unnerved being stopped by the police in a different country especially if couldn’t speak the language well. I would confess to crimes I didn’t commit. Did you get in trouble for jumping a red light?

I’ve never had an encounter and hope I never do, but I find it fascinating that on a subconscious level people just get a feeling about someone who’s a murderer/psycho. There’s obviously some cues that the mind can pick up on that gives off uncanny valley or danger
