MGF Mafia 3: The Woodsboro Murders
Why would duck say he was the jock if he was really mafia?

There are 12 roles and there were 12 players at the start of the game. Every role could potentially be an accomplice. It's up to you to scrutinise whether that would make sense on a role by role basis.

I think the idea is that any of the archetypes can also be mafia. Notice that it says there can be multiple accomplices to the killer but only lists one role for the killer. In this case either The Jock was always a killer accomplice or The Jock was framed.

Otherwise I don't understand how the framing mechanic works. The point is that if you die with the ghost costume planted on you then the town are led to believe you're mafia when you aren't. If Agent was framed then why would Duck just tell us that he wasn't mafia? That's not framing someone.

EDIT: Wrote this without refreshing to see Duck's message.

Ah, makes sense. But then it would make just as little sense for the mafia to kill Agent if he was mafia as it would if they were trying to frame him, so we're back at the most likely scenario being Agent getting killed accidentally while mafia were simultaneously trying to frame him. (It seems reasonable assume they were not so dumb as to try and kill Aragorn after he was confirmed to be final girl.)

EDIT: Unless Agent was intentionally using his jock power to nueter Aragorn's invulnerability, and the mafia didn't realise they had to wait an extra day before killing Aragorn so as not to kill Agent. But that would be a pretty hilarious rules fuck up if so.

Also we have to remember that mafia can plant ghost face costumes, it could be a fake mafia I think. The Jock role protects other players and suffers any night action they are impacted by so the ghost face costume could have been planted on him and then he protected a player that was targeted and so now shows up as mafia. Or maybe he was just targeted directly after having the costume planted on him.

This must have been what happened, right? Agent as the jock protected whoever the mafia killed and was killed in their place. The mafia was coincidentally trying to frame Agent, presumably not realising they were the jock and therefore the inherent risk in doing that. There's no way the mafia would intentionally choose to kill agent after planting the mask on them.

Given BB88's request for the deputy to investigate Agent, we have to ask whether the mafia had simply decided planting the mask on someone the deputy had been asked to investigate was a good way of sowing discord, or if this was an intentional plot by BB88 as mafia that backfired. I'd also be interested to hear more about his super secret plan to figure out who the mafia is that he can only reveal today for some reason.

Btw I'm a town role and was visited last night be a certain friendly weed smoker. If that's you, you know I'm telling the truth. (Unless the rules don't actually work like that, but I'd assume that given mafia seemingly managed to both kill someone and plant the costume last night, they can't have been affected.)

I’m pretty much a confirmed town by now. Aragorn can confirm my role. My theory is that a role backfired the mafia kill somehow. Agent was to be lynched today. There are two possibilities here: either he was framed or the kill was backfired by a role’s ability. There’s a possibility that is circulating in my mind is that there two final girls. This would be a hilarious plot twist if it’s the case. 🤣🤣🤣 If this is the case, we have another gun in town’s possession and I advise whoever is the other final girls to not use unless we are about to lynch them by mistake.

I’m pretty sure Aragorn was on me as I instructed him to be on me incase mafia decided to attack him so I would die in his place. So if Aragorn was targeted I’d be dead.

There’s something I want to note but I’ll keep it to myself for now and hope mafia doesn’t realize it (but I think they do by now since Agent is dead).
