I'm so torn and don't know what to do. Literally was a few days ago reminiscing on the last time I saw them which was FOURTEEN years ago, they've only been here I think once since and it was about 7 years ago at a festival, and that first time I saw them was at a festival and I loved it but the experience was fucking awful. But tickets are €84 minimum + booking fees so €100, it's a joke. But man it's been so long. I haven't really listened to their last album but still listen to Is This It and Room On Fire regularly, and I still have love for FIOE and Angles (and Comedown Machine a little). Not sure what to do. FUCK I hate the pricing of gigs these days.

Amen to all that, but I'm a hypocrite because I got a ticket. I've got so few gigs on in 2026 this is now my next gig. This combined with the fact I've never seen them (and loved the previous album) and I think some people I know are going I decided to go. Bank isn't thanking me at the minute.

I'm a hypocrite too as I'm going as well apparently.

Ordered tickets to see De Staat and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats for November so my gig calendar is picking back up. Combined with The Strokes it's 3 new venues as well so I'm happy with that. I'm debating getting a resale face value ticket to see Pixies. I'm not hugely familiar with the discography but they feel like a band I should see at some point.

Weezer touring in 2027 with Taking Back Sunday supporting. Would love to see Weezer as the main act. I'll decide on the day tickets go on sale when I look at the prices.

Feel like I need to do a small write up to document all the music I've seen since last posting lol.

Saw System of a Down with QOTSA Support in July. SOAD were absolutely phenomenal and I cannot believe how much energy they exude. Managed to see the show on barrier and it was worth every penny (thankfully I have since forgotten how much that was lol). I cannot wait for them to come back. One of the best big Stadium shows I've been to (Foo Fighters are still an undeniable #1 for stadium shows). QOTSA are unfortunately, very much past their prime and had generally speaking, just a lot of cringe "lets get fucked up and binge drink" energy to them. Shame but oh well.

At the beginning of August, I saw Masayoshi Takanaka again at the City Pop Waves Crystal Palace Bowl day festival with Himiko Kimikuchi playing Flying Beagle in full, a DJ set by Ginger Root and a short set by Junko Yagami playing her greatest hits. All were absolutely great, insane talent and a wonderful crowd, made many good friends in the audience and felt like a truly once in a lifetime event. I simply cannot believe how good Takanaka is, and think this may have been one of my favourite ever live shows.

The day after I went to Maiden Voyage festival which was honestly just a hot, dry dust bowl (think I inhaled so much sand and dirt and dust that I actually got a bruised throat). The highlight was Tokischa hands down, insanely talented rapper and performer.

This weekend on Saturday I saw Moby live after a mate told me he had a spare ticket and honestly, it went hard. Was surprised how much I enjoyed it, despite not listening to Moby much, but it was a great show and he has some brilliant songs.

And then on Sunday, I saw Jimmy Eat World at Crystal Palace Bowl again and Rise Against with my partner and Max, both were an absolute treat but Jimmy Eat World really takes the top spot for how good of a live band they are.

Lol I saw, their London date is on my birthday (good chance for everyone to get it down in their calendars now without me saying it directly 👀). Would love to see them but unsure I wanna for my birthday exactly.
