GTA VI

GTAV was just an extraordinary tailored response to perceived fan backlash to GTA IV. The funny thing is, GTA IV has aged tremendously, while GTA V is 100% a low point for the overall series filled with forgettable or try-hard characters.

GTAIV's DLCs are so damn good too, I bought a copy of the complete edition a few weeks back but I love The Lost And Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony. V also did its best to destroy much of what happened in TLAD just to show Trevor was edgy which was another reason to hate his annoying ass.

GTA IV is a funny old game. It's story is far and away the best in the franchise, and Niko is comfortably the best written protagonist in the series, but the concrete jungle of Liberty City never really appealed and it controlled quite poorly.

I couldn't tell you a single thing about the plot of GTA V other than setting up heists and Trevor being a craaaaaaazy lunatic. Hilarious that Steven Ogg actively resents being tied to the role.

GTA IV was incredibly built, I just felt it lacked content. The world, characters and detail was fantastic, but there wasn't enough to do in it to keep me there.

I was the same. Liked the setup of the story and Niko but I just didn't enjoy the world very much. Although I did always get a laugh out of stuff like the internet cafes. Talk about a product of its time. I think the DLCs made the city feel that bit more alive which is probably a big reason why I enjoyed them so much.

I thought TBGOT was an example of the correct kind of response to some of the criticism of the game. GTA V was overkill.

As much as i'd love to simulate running errands for drug dealers while girlbossed by a chubby Latina, I think I can wait for the PC leak official release.

Certainly but i'm not sure the escapist Scarface simulator benefits from bringing the wife along to every mission. Each new Rockstar game seems to add more baggage and less agency to the protagonist which defeats the point of the egoistic crime fantasy. It's either being held down by grove street, or your dumbass cousin, or a wife and kids, and so on. I think SA and IV still handled it quite well but the bloke in RDR2 was comically subservient and this seems like a continuation of that.
