I found the first really boring. I just didn't get what people liked about it, so yeah skip for me.

All these new games lately are making me feel really "old man shouts at cloud" coded. Maybe I just hate video games.

Nah I think that happens naturally as you get into your late 20s, you become slightly jaded and something has to go the extra mile to impress you. I think it happens in all forms of media to be honest, but is probably more pronounced in video games because there's a clear childhood connection to that sense of wonder you get when playing certain games for the first time. 

The good news is you become more discerning. The bad news is it's just the start of you becoming a miserable cunt. Sorry.
