Silent Hill: Townfall is a first-person psychological survival-horror game. Releases September 24, 2026 for PS5/PC.

It follows Simon Ordell (Jovan Adepo), called back to the foggy Scottish coastal town of St. Amelia in 1996, waking near the docks with only fragments of memory. Driven to put things right, he attempts to piece together his forgotten connection to the town, a self-contained story built around guilt, mystery, and loss.

for all the things it does exceptionally well – has some infuriating downers — 6/10

succeeds most when replicating what's come before it — 7/10

it shows us where Silent Hill can go — 8/10

an unrelentingly dark and disturbing horror game — 9/10

3 good Silent Hill games in a row, never thought I'd see the day.

I don't think I liked Silent Hill f as much as a lot of people did, but that primarily stems from the fact that I thought the combat was infuriatingly janky and I generally don't care for the 1960s Japan aesthetic, but the vibes were immaculate.

I may look into Townfall when it's a little bit cheaper, but 90s Scotland sounds like a setting I already prefer.
