Cyberpunk 2077

Funny story, this is the FIFTH attempt to get into this game. I've attempted to play it on 4 different occasions since 2020, played for about an hour each time, struggled to get into it, decided I "wasn't in the mood" for it and dropped it. The 4th time I dropped it, I told myself that I had dropped it for good and that there's no way I'm just "not in the mood" 4 times in a row, I clearly just don't like the game. Got bored recently, and with Mindseye being fucking terrible, was in the mood for a futuristic, open world sandbox game.

Now I'm obsessed. 15 hours in. Just in time for my week off. I guess sometimes it's all about timing when playing certain games.

55 hours and 8 minutes later, I now have the platinum trophy.

Fuck me, what a game. Didn't think this would land a spot among my all-time favourites, but here we are.

I’ve wanted to start this game since watching the anime and then it getting the references in Death Stranding but I’ve just not found the time to get around to it. I bought the original tabletop RPG (Cyberpunk 2020) as I also thought it would be fun to get into the world that way first instead of the other way around where the contents of the game would so obviously inform my mental image. Surprise surprise, since I haven’t found the time to play a video game for a bit I also have not found the time to read a literal book of rules and make a campaign for it lol

Did you play the DLC too? How much does it add?

I haven't played Phantom Liberty yet. I'm taking a breather for now and may come back to it, but by all accounts based on what I've read, it's considered one of the best DLCs of all time.

Cyberpunk is probably top 3 recoveries in gaming history given it's reputation these days, alongside No Man's Sky and Final Fantasy XIV. I feel like the people who got burned back in 2020 played a completely different game to the game I played.

I replayed the Alan Wake games recently. I've always had a soft spot for the first one, but the second is so damn good. It was my favourite game of 2023 and I racked up over 100 hours in it. It's gameplay, story and atmosphere are all perfection imo. It's probably Remedy's best game (although Max Payne 2 still holds a very special place in my heart)

Got Silent Hill f on the way and Ghost of Yotei is releasing soon. Plus BF6 soon after that. Gonna be a busy few months.

I might go for the Delta play myself. Since my first run was no kill + all kerotan + all GA-KO + Kerotan I just need a Foxhound run and all animals really. Foxhound sounds waaaay easier than the original.

I'm currently splitting my time between TPP and For Honor - I want to get the V platinum, then go back to Delta and get that Platinum - and I have Ghost of Yotei coming up next week. Too many games, not enough time!

Yeah I'm really excited for Ghost of Yotei and SH F both. Both pay day purchases for me and I can't wait to sink my teeth into both! Going to try and see if I can finish the main story and a good chunk of side content in Shadows before then but we'll see.

Oh no haha, it’s just very similar to it. Same sort of ‘get items with different effects to create synergies to reach increasingly bigger number’ type of game, but instead of playing poker hands you’re spinning a slot machine.

Plus the game lets you piss and shit so it’s basically GOTY
