OD

Is anybody else actually kind of stupidly hyped for this game we know nothing about?

I'm really excited to see Kojima and Peele collaborate on a piece of dedicated horror media. Kojima and KojiPro/his teams at Konami have always slid in subtle horror into their games, and you can see that inspiration seep through from horror films in their games, but this is something I'm really excited for. The trailer was unsettling, eery and gave some semblance of the atmosphere whilst showing so little.

Also he definitely scanned all those feet.

Yeah I'm very excited for OD. I like Jordan Peele's films and I'm a fan of both Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier so the star power is high at the very least. But beyond that the few pieces of information have built a real mystique around what it will be. I know Kojima likes to make all his mechanics sound nuts (and sometimes they are) but the apparent focus on Xbox's cloud gaming technology has kind of piqued my interest.

Anyone who doesn't know who Udo Kier is should watch Cigarette Burns by John Carpenter. It has both Udo and Norman Reedus so it's ended up being a little bit of a showreel of modern KJP collaborators.

A Kojima horror game is all we've ever wanted since PT got cancelled. Jordan Peele's involvement is just a lovely little bonus.

OK I'm interested now.

What's the deal with this title in terms of exclusivity. It was obviously announced as an Xbox/Microsoft exclusive but they don't really do many of those now in theory, do they? Seems like a huge number of untouchables have gone across to PlayStation so I wonder if this will be a year delay thing.

Seems like Microsoft are hesitant to even do year exclusives anymore. I think that'll be it at most, but it's probably just the fact that its backed by Xbox Game Studios and will drop simultaneously everywhere. Maybe some year exclusive DLC?

This could end up being quite varied then.

The spiritual successor to PT lives!

It's only been 11 years.

It being episodic is interesting to me. Kojima's been chasing this structure since MGS V but it fell flat on its face because its an open world game and the fifth in a long running, cinematic franchise. This is much better suited for something like this.

Shame it's MS exclusive.
