Pressure Sensitivity restored to Master Collection?
#1
I cannot confirm this personally, please do not download without doing due diligence with antivirus and so on.

But if so, this is a monumental achievement!

Honestly, with how long ago I played the OGs. I completely forgot there was pressure sensitivity. Beat through the collection with no issues however, but it is nice there is a solution for people who want the sensitivity back.

I've mainly played the games on PS2 so it has always felt weird to not have it when I try to play any of the ports. Why have no consoles since that generation really done pressure sensitivity? Was it seen as a fad or something?

It does seem strange that the PS3 was the last (and even then, I suspect it was retained mostly for the sake of PS2 backwards compatibility before it got removed).  Both the PS2 and XBOX had pressure-sensitive everything.  The Gamecube settled for just two of the shoulder buttons.  Subsequent generations followed the 'cube's setup in that way and I really don't know why. That said... how many non-MGS games made use of pressure sensitive face buttons?  Some driving games (GTA included) used it for acceleration... I want to say Spider-Man 2's jump button also worked that way.

It's a super cool feature, but I'm not sure if many developers, if any, took advantage of it.  I still think it feels wrong for driving games to use right triggers for acceleration.  It's supposed to be A/X, darn it.  Anyway, I'd rather have more pressure sensitivity and less motion controls.  I like the feeling of empowering my thumbs rather than being asked to flail around.
