Currently playing through Unity. Played it years ago and just didn't gel with it at all, but I've been meaning to give it a second chance for some time now because the French Revolution is such an interest era for a game to take place in, and 19th century Paris just be an architectural marvel. And this game is absolutely jam-packed with NPCs, no wonder it didn't run on launch lmao.

I think Unity is great honestly. It felt like the design in it was very intentionally done to put the emphasis on assassinations for the first time since the og Assassin's Creed. Combat felt horrible but you're not meant to be getting into fights with a dozen guards at once, so it worked perfectly to encourage stealth and proper planning for each assassination. I also thought the implementation of the modern day story was done in a way that felt quite fresh for the franchise, and felt like it still sort of furthered stuff to do with Desmond's saga.

You tried the co-op at all? I've always sort of intended to go back to it one day and round up a group to give it a go.

Unity is truly a wonderful game. I love it. But there's not many Assassin's Creed games I don't love.

I remember back in old MGSF when Syndicate came out in 2015, felt like me and you were the only two standing up for it when there was a lot of hate for it at the time. Seems to have an improved reputation 11 years later, definitely puts credence to the theory that everyone simply had fatigue from the annual releases.

I fucking love Syndicate.

Yep, same here. Jacob and Evie were great characters and I was properly absorbed by Victorian London.
