MGF: The Tournament

You know, here in the US March is known to be a month of madness. Namely for tournaments. So I figured what better way to celebrate than with our own...but with video game series! To do so, I found some of the best selling and popular franchises of all time and randomized them into slots on a tournament bracket. Welcome to....MGF: The Tournament!

So without further ado, I'll go over the basic idea and how it'll work.

The Tournament

• For this tournament, they're 64 entries, divided into two brackets of 32. 
  
• The two links down below each lead to one of the two brackets. Simply vote for which of the two franchises you like most down both lists.
  
• Click the blue Vote button by each matchup after you've made your selection.
  
• Each round lasts for a week to give people plenty of time to vote. The starting round lasts until 11:59 PM on March 7 and so on.
  
• You can see how many votes have gone into each matchup, but not how they were distributed until after the round.
  
• To determine our winner in April, the winners from each bracket will have one final showdown against each other.
  

That's really all there is. Any questions, post away and I'll answer best I can. This is, ideally, supposed to be a fun way to see what this site's favorite game series is. Will Metal Gear win? Good luck to all!

I love the idea but some of these brackets are killing me. Devil May Cry and Elden Ring? Pokemon and Spyro? Are you trying to piss me off? Also, where’s BLOODBORNE

Some I know were hard, but they were randomized. 

I didn't do Bloodborne because I was aiming for series with multiple entries. Elden Ring only made it in with Nightreign. Also why Expedition 33 or Return of the Obra Dinn aren't in there.

Notes:

• There were four ties (Doom and COD, Elder Scrolls and RDR, Mafia and Prince of Persia, & Legend of Zelda and Portal. I'll confess I'm not sure how it determined the winners, but we'll run with it.
  
• We had five clean sweeps! Final Fantasy, Castlevania, Mortal Kombat, Half Life, and the home team: Metal Gear Solid.
  
• Some big names were lost in Round 1: Call of Duty, Fallout, Uncharted, TLOU, Kingdom Hearts, RDR, Elden Ring, Dark Souls to name a few.
  
• I'll be honest, Tony Hawk beating out Smash Bros was a bit of a surprise. Dark horse of the tournament?
  
• Round 2 voting ends on 3/14 at 23:59! Then we're on to the Sweet 16. Have fun!
