I've had a change of heart regarding one of the rules. There will no longer be penalties for incomplete lists. It was probably short-sighted of me to assume that the majority here would have the money/time/desire to play 5 or more games from a single calendar year, and thus it no longer makes sense to me to be awarding reduced points. As a result, the scoring will now simply be 5 points for your #1 game, 4 points for your #2 game et al, regardless of how many total games you list. Naturally I should say that if you've played less than 5 games and you despised one or more of the games you played, you're not obliged to include it on your list.

@NateDog I'm happy to include Delta if you wish? It's a full-on, build from the ground remake, and is therefore worthy to be judged separately from the original Snake Eater imo.

Thanks but honestly I prefer to leave it out. If we're talking about a remake on a bigger scale then sure, but honestly it's pretty much MGS3 as it was with a refreshed coat of paint alongside some updated shooting mechanics (which don't exactly help the balance of the experience in a lot of places as it makes certain sections trivial).

Gee Nate it sounds like you have opinions and should rate the game in the MGS Delta members review thread!

Gee Max it sounds like you should respond to my last WhatsApp message from *checks notes* mid December!

I really don't keep up with modern video gaming that much. The only new game I played last year was Delta. I still have mixed feelings and various nitpicks, but I'd be out of my mind to say it wasn't good.

Okay Maxine Work!

1. Death Stranding 2
2. Deltarune
3. Hollow Knight Silksong
4. Donkey Kong Bananza
5. Kirby Air Riders

With the exception of Deltarune (that isn't even a complete game yet anyway lol but counts as releasing this year) I haven't actually beaten any of these yet so it's hard to make the call.

I did beat Delta but think all of these are better.

I haven't forgotten about this btw, I will announce the (incredibly obvious) result when I get time, just been a bit hectic recently.

Hello everyone. Thank you for your patience. I know you've already been dying to know what the MGSF GOTY is for 2025. I can now reveal that the winner is...

CLAIR OBSCUR: EXPEDITION 33

[Image: Clair_Obscur%2C_Expedition_33_Cover_1.webp]

Yes, on the week that it overtook Elden Ring as the most awarded video game in the medium's history, it has now snagged perhaps the most prestigious of it's 436 awards; winning on this forum in a year where 2 Kojima-adjacent games came out. In that regard, it's actually a true underdog victory.

Here's a full breakdown of the results:

Spoiler:

A big thank you to everyone who voted. Hopefully in this time this forum will grow to a point where the results become a little bit more interesting and there points tally will reach triple figures, and maybe this can become an annual vote whereby I'll be sure to start a MGF Hall of Fame for all the winners.

Also, no votes for Mindseye?

Oh shit I didn't post mine!

For anyone intrigued they would've been:

1. Dynasty Warriors: Origins
2. Silent Hill F
3. Oblivion Remastered

Cheers for organising and doing the stats, Bread!
