Just finished Robocop: Rogue City Unfinished Business. It's...fine. I still maintain that the reason every Robocop sequel since the original has failed is because that at its heart Robocop is a character study. If you don't get Murphy right or put him at the centre of the story it's not going to work.

Im glad the studio behind it recovered from the Rambo game they put out before it. I really enjoyed Rogue City as well, have you played the Terminator game they did? i enjoyed that too.

Ngl traversal is a little sticky - it's really fundamentally different from any of the previous games I've played in this series, but it might just be a case of needing to get used to it. I'm playing pretty much only as Naoe right now (the game kind of railroads you into playing as her in the first open world segments, and I've just started exploring and ignoring main quests to do some fun world trapsing around). She's fun but I think Sasuke absolutely demolishes anybody in combat to an insane degree, making his combat so much easier lmao.

Cyberpunk 2077

Funny story, this is the FIFTH attempt to get into this game. I've attempted to play it on 4 different occasions since 2020, played for about an hour each time, struggled to get into it, decided I "wasn't in the mood" for it and dropped it. The 4th time I dropped it, I told myself that I had dropped it for good and that there's no way I'm just "not in the mood" 4 times in a row, I clearly just don't like the game. Got bored recently, and with Mindseye being fucking terrible, was in the mood for a futuristic, open world sandbox game.

Now I'm obsessed. 15 hours in. Just in time for my week off. I guess sometimes it's all about timing when playing certain games.

55 hours and 8 minutes later, I now have the platinum trophy.

Fuck me, what a game. Didn't think this would land a spot among my all-time favourites, but here we are.

I’ve wanted to start this game since watching the anime and then it getting the references in Death Stranding but I’ve just not found the time to get around to it. I bought the original tabletop RPG (Cyberpunk 2020) as I also thought it would be fun to get into the world that way first instead of the other way around where the contents of the game would so obviously inform my mental image. Surprise surprise, since I haven’t found the time to play a video game for a bit I also have not found the time to read a literal book of rules and make a campaign for it lol

I had a massive interest in Cyberpunk 2077 from the very first teaser and followed every lick of info from it for a long while, but as things came closer to release I just felt like there was too much that felt different from what they said their aims were all along (including it not being TPS, which I completely understood from a functionality point of view but it didn't leave me any less disappointed). I do still want to try it but, much like TW3, I feel like I need a lot of spare time and a completely clear slate, neither of which do I ever really have.
