Trailer
#1

I posted the Japanese version in the shoutbox but it went haywire.  Anyhow, it's looking pretty great.  Using Delta to represent Snake Eater feels like a disservice to Volume 1, but I understand that Konami would want to continue promoting their more recent release.  Jumping from those graphics to Peace Walker is a bit a mind-screw, though.  Anyone notice some Delta footage masquerading among the MGS4 flashbacks?  Is that just stylized for the trailer, or are they actually updating the flashbacks to use Delta in place of the original Snake Eater?  I feel that would be too much revisionist history for the sake of a remaster/port.

I actually really hate when companies do that, even though obviously you understand it from a business perspective. ATLUS have been using Persona 3 Reload footage exclusively when making montages celebrating the Persona franchise's history. It feels incredibly disrespectful when the original Persona 3 was the start of the franchise in the iteration most know today. If they've even done it to the MGS4 flashbacks that would be far far too much. Imagine if they replaced the polygonal nightmare Snake has to have Twin Snakes visuals lmao.

Plus Delta is uuuuuuuugly 😂

Devil's Advocate: They already used Twin Snakes's voices for flashbacks in 4.  But that's more to do with the fact that TTS had higher quality studio recordings, I think.  Japanese MGS4 used PS1 voices because... well, TTS never had Japanese voices to begin with.  But such a thing would undermine one of my favorite moments, yes.

As for Delta, I think it's a fine looking game... so long as the "legacy" filter is enabled.   Removing that yellow tint by default was a terrible idea, it destroyed the look and feel of things.  It's like that one 4K release of The Matrix that reduced/removed the famous green tinting. Either way, a 2008 game should not have flashbacks to a 2025 release under any circumstances.
