The Tar Pit - Main Chat
#61
In the context of DS1, I think the radio idea doesn't really fit the overall theme of the game itself. It really is just Sam Porter Bridges and the package he is delivering. Yes, Lou is there but they aren't exactly a character until you get deeper into the story. The game wants you to feel alone, because that is how Sam feels. And you can kind of also think of it as a way Sam views himself. Why should the man who has nothing, have something? I think the character Sam Porter Bridges would not turn on the radio and embrace the quiet solitude.

Also, yeah the music sucked. I could not get into any of the tracks for the most part. DS2 had some good ones but none of them made me want to hear them again after I completed the game.
