The DLSS 5 Drama
#1
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2026/03/g...-glow-ups/

So incase you've missed it the last couple of days, Nvidia announced a new technology that is essentially like a super powered upscaling thingy majig powered by AI.

Not surprisingly the reception hasn't been great.

What's everyone thinking? Sign of the end times?

I'm being hyperbolic but honestly it's just a tech dead-end to appease investors. Meta, OpenAI, and Nvidia have been passing around the same 1 trillion dollars or however much it is, and that trillion is literally all of the economic growth of the past couple of years. The US tech sector is being propped up on two sticks called AMD and Nvidia at the moment, and the US economy is propped up on one stick called the US tech sector. Sign of the end-times might be too much, but sign of impending economic collapse? Fuck dude, strong maybe.

Real shit though, I barely see any difference. DLSS 5 definitely makes things look AI generated, which immediately dates whatever it's being applied to.

No surprise, and I read earlier that after all the comments that this isn't utilising generative AI that it is utilising generative AI.
