Swallowing/Regurgitating Cigarettes - Is This Possible?

I'm certain this has been discussed on the original site at some point, but I want to open the floor to the topic again.

Kojima has no issue stretching reality to fit his universe, but how possible is it for someone to SWALLOW an entire pack of cigarettes, and then tactically regurgitate them??

Naomi tells Snake that he's been given medication to suppress his gastrointestinal juices--Effectively preventing the pack from being digested. It's well-known that cigarettes are not good for you if eaten, search engine results claim that vomiting and a possible fever is almost guaranteed.

The biggest piece to this puzzle is the item icon ingame:


Snake did not just swallow a handful of cigarettes--They are IN A PACK. So that prevents the stomach from absorbing chemicals from the cigarettes themselves, I guess (?). But how did this man swallow an entire pack of cigarettes? Judging by the one sticking out of the pack in the icon, this is a soft pack rather than a hard pack. Soft packs are essentially just a paper wrapping, rather than a cardboard box. That said, soft packs are practically the same dimensions as a hard pack. How many cigarettes were in there?? Snake is never actually shown finishing one ingame, so either he's smoking the same four or five butts and putting them out or we as the player are just given an unlimited supply. 

Is this possible for some special forces badass? Is Snake just the throat goat??

My assumption was they went in one end then out of the other because I've never given it much thought since I was 9. I think spewing them up would make more sense as he can bring them back up on command. He's ripped, you don't have to have an eating disorder to be ripped, but it helps.

Blowing my mind right now. Why did I not consider this? Lifelong military training from age ten onwards must certainly create some level of eating disorder, or at least the raw gumption to purge on the spot whenever. I guess it's the getting it down part I just cannot believe. Then again I'm just going off the ingame icon, no actual pack is ever shown so I guess he could have put a handful of them in a condom or something and then swallowed that.

I also didn't consider that he might have crapped them out, which lends more credence to my condom theory I think, that's a classic drug mule strategy IRL.

Not that I can imagine him really smoking them but maybe for Shadow Moses he was smoking SuperSlim Vogues? A pack of them is actually quite believably ingested-especially wrapped in a condom. Does he have any Madonna on his iPod in 4? Would lend credence to this theory.

I've eaten lit cigarettes before. This provides no real insight as to whether what Snake did is possible but I can confirm that I don't recommend anyone does that.

I can believe that fat gob can guzzle an entire pack of Marlboro. What I can't believe is him actually smoking them.

Even if he isn't producing gastrointestinal juices, there must still be moisture in his stomach - after all, he can get a cold, so we know that at the very least, his throat and respiratory tract is lined with healthy mucus to start with. So how does he still manage to light these soggy cigarettes? Everytime he regurgitated one, does he pat it down, fan it out, draw out the moisture (somehow?) and then light them?

Next time Konami inevitably remakes MGS, I hope there's a new ten minute cutscene of Snake meeting Meryl in the bathroom and having to pass several condoms full of ultra thin cigarettes, scratchy voice babbling about nanomachines and digestive juices.

Yeah like there's no way the inside of his stomach is just dry that would be deranged. He's just standing there in the laser hallway blowing on them for like half an hour.

Unless...He was sparing Naomi the gory details. He didn't swallow them at all. He went straight to delivering in rear. Now, he's wearing a full one piece stealth suit so who knows, but either way one of those helipad guards got a weird surprise when they walked past the elevator.
