Question about pal card key in the torture room...

How snake, after being tortured, was able to get the key again?
and why ocelot has told liquid that snake didn't have any keys on him near the end where ocelot and liquid spoke near metal gear rex...?
was it to fool snake? if it was, then it's not smart! because snake knows liquid took his card in the torture room...

Ocelot and Liquid needed Snake to input the PAL keys to activate REX. They knew there was some trick to the PAL key but didn’t know what it was so they left it to Snake to figure out as Snake thought he was deactivating REX by inputting the 3 keys / versions of the key. I think even though Snake knew they had his belongings after being captured, he gets everything back, so my guess is it's just a suspension of disbelief gaming thing really.
