I just really liked the style of MGS TUS, but I am having a hard time trying to replicate their style and make it my own. Everytime I try something, it keeps getting off from what I want.

Unless you think it's looking bad maybe do lean into it looking slightly different. TUS is a good looking site but it's fine to take inspiration rather than directly replicate. What aspect are you having issues with, anyway?

Yeah I'm not liking the look of that template from a plugin for Wordpress. The biggest part of what TUS did that I liked in their coming soon pages was using words from the games. Like for their first version they used the "unleash armageddon" line from Snake Eater. The last version of the site used the "zero to 100" line from 4. I'm wanting to use that line. Sorry for being difficult

It's coming along! Maybe read through some Solid Snake quotes to see if there's anything you could use if you like TUS using quotes and your site focuses on Snake.
