Nintendo Switch 2 Thread

It’s silly to have a button with no functionality if you aren’t using online functionality but really this felt obvious. Although I suppose PlayStation doesn’t need PS Plus to voice chat does it? Despite that I for some reason thought this was a given…huh.

Anyway I’ve preordered mine! [Image: 1536593320-016-smiley.gif]

Yeah that's kinda where I am. Not sure if it's used for streaming or recording too which might be possible? In which case that should be just standard offering.

The main thing I'm hyped for is Donkey Kong Bananza! I've never played Donkey Kong 64, but I'm excited to see them make another 3D Donkey Kong again. It's all a bit expensive right now though, so I'm happy just waiting on getting my Switch 2. I barely use my original Switch tbh.

Contemplating it purely for the FS exclusive and Metroid. We’ll see how the prices pan out this side of the world.

I picked up the TomToc travel case on recommendation, especially because I got the official Nintendo one for the Switch and it didn't stop ours from picking up multiple cracks despite it never having any real falls. My word this is going to be a beefy console to hold, it's huge!

Hadn't even thought to get a carry case in advance. I remember on the original Switch launch I just went down to the nearest GAME and spent an extra £100 on a case, extra joycons, some amiibo, the works. Won't be doing that this time both for financial and logistical reasons as GAME aren't as plentiful as in 2017. Why's tomtoc the recommended one?

I'm wondering what'll be the surprise favourite for early Switch 2 owners. I know Super Bomberman R got a lot of play from me in those early months where the Switch didn't have a massive library.

Also I wonder if we'll ever get ARMS 2. I really liked the first game but it was quite barebones as a game, even if the actual fighting was really fun. Some wonderful character designs too. Would be quite weird to put Min Min in Smash if its a franchise they intended to let die.

A few on Resetera said theirs for the Switch was decent. I wanted the Hori one but only in Japan seemingly (Nin-Nin was the only place I actually saw a listing from so far but wasn't even available to order). Same for myself though, I got the case just to be prepared but to spread the cost a bit. I'm already contemplating not getting more joycons for the console and just using the ones from the Switch, just not sure how that'll fare with Mario Kart (will I miss out on some gameplay options or will it be more difficult? Haven't seen anything on this). I won't be getting anything else with it anyway.

Yeah I own 5 pairs of JoyCons ridiculously. I own 4 Switches including my Lite. Probably time to part with most of them. I've been meaning to sell my Animal Crossing edition one but my girlfriend is using it to play Disco Elysium as its tied to that Switch from when my friend borrowed it. Maybe a complete save data transfer to another Switch would deal with that.

We have the same console and Leelee would probably kill me if I tried to get rid of it lol. We have 4 Switch joycons so I hope they'll work fine on the NSW2 without missing out on features for most games, €80-€90 a pop is a lot.
