I'd love it but I just don't believe or expect it. I'm assuming any mention of online connectivity is probably to do with leaderboards and little else. It'd be a great starting point but, well we'll see. Maybe MGO2 on the Legacy Collection Vol 2 would make more sense given it was later sold as a separate package on a disc in some regions, I'd happily pay for it as an extra download or individual purchase.
