New Δ: Snake Eater Opening Sequence
#1

Quote: Presenting: The OPENING MOVIE Δ Version from METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, releasing August 28!

We're sharing Kyle Cooper's completely re-done opening sequence in the remake, accompanied by a new recording of the theme song performed by Cynthia Harrell!

And, you can look forward to enjoying the staff credits and interactive elements from the original, included in the in-game version of the opening.

Looks good, I've seen a lot complaining it spoils too much but that was always Kojima's way anyway and the game has been out ages.

Yeah, the game's plot is pretty well known by now, so it's not an issue worth worrying about.

I think the biggest problem is that it dispensed with the camouflage imagery of the original. It was a fine case of both story and gameplay coming together into something truly beautiful. The new sequence isn't bad, but it has lost some of its identity. I feel the timing of clips was better in the original as well - that RPG hit fits the exact portion of the theme so well. I also think the re-recorded song just isn't as powerful as the original. Much respect to Cynthia Harrell - she still has it. But those hints of autotune make me wonder what the point of that was.

As far as I know that should still be in the game (if you're talking about the opening screen that goes between colours with Snake doing CQC once you've started the game previously I mean). Was sure I could remember people saying they wished they did that here again then someone confirmed it, although I can't quite remember actually seeing it.

We're talking about two different things.  The classic CQC main menu is (allegedly) still in there, if you turn on the legacy filter - a new nature themed scene replaces it otherwise.

I meant the title sequence - it used to have all these bits of cold war imagery floating around resembling camouflage patterns, but that seems absent in Delta's revised version.

Ah I think I remember what you mean. I wonder if this might be like the HD collection versions where the licences to use those bits of footage and imagery that were used in MGS1-2 expired so they had to get creative.
