Sounding very good.  One screenshot of the included digital archival book included some phrasing that will no-doubt lead to some interesting reactions among the fandom.

Spoiler:

Konami's been neglecting it forever - and now they're using words like "canon"?   I think it's a lock for Volume 3.

Spoiler:
San Hieronymo is mentioned at the beginning of Peace Walker, Portable Ops screenshots are used in MGS4 and Kojima did say the events of the game happened in broad strokes. He only wrote the synopsis for MPO: the script is attributed to Gakuto Mimo, a light novel author. Kojima reportedly didn't like certain elements in the final version, for example Null being revealed as Gray Fox.

I'd like to see PO and Ac!d games put together at some point. Add ons for Vol 3?

The way I see it, if we get Volume 3...

  • Portable Ops and Revengeance will be the "stars".
  • Twin Snakes as well, if the web of licensing can be overcome.
  • The Acid Games will be presented as the "extras" like the 8-bit games have been.  MPO+ is a lock if the main game makes it in.
  • Metal Gear Solid Mobile will be the "hidden gem you've never played" if they really want to go all out.

There isn't much more, is there?  GZ, Phantom Pain, and Survive could be their own bundle, I guess.  There's stuff like Touch and Social Ops, but I'm not sure if there's anything to those titles that warrants preservation beyond their mere obscurity.  I guess the 3DS version of Snake Eater could be a thing because it's essentially running on the Peace Walker engine and has some unique aspects to it.

It would be nice if they actually kept the online in MPO...or maybe Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. Online is awaiting us jampacked with every MGO experience known to man?

Not sure if it was worth making a new thread, but Digital Foundry - who go over games' technical issues with fine-toothed combs - have glowing praise for MGS4's port. Other than Switch-centric shadows and the appearance of the codec screen's LCD filter, they have only high praise for the game once thought to be un-portable. They have more technical gripes with Ghost Babel!

Wait a sec... did they mirror Old Snake on the cover? The Solid Eye's supposed to be on the other side.
