Hello, this topic is for the various tournaments around MGF! Here I'll explain how I'm planning on running them and welcome any suggestions for future tournaments, entrants, or changes to the format.

So, the first tournament was a 64 entrant battle of our favorite series specifically. It had to have at least two games in it for it to be included. After this tournament, some changes were made. I tried to be diverse in the gnres included, but sports games did so poorly I think I'm going to remove the FIFAs and Maddens and such. Also, single games were requested, so I scoured the internet and my own gaming history to find popular enough ones to include. Only problem is I kept going, adding both individual games and other series I'd forgotten or omitted and found myself at ~150 entries. Confused

So here's my thought:

I took the top 80 of these entries and put them in a "premiere league" of sorts. They'll be included in every tournament, but if they never get any votes, they'll be downgraded to the secondary tier. The way a full tournament will now work is their will be one additional round from the initial 64 entry one from the first tournament for a 128 randmoized brawl. These will be called Grand Tournaments and will be yearly so we don't overdo them. They'll include all 80 premier titles and 48 random secondary titles to spice things up. Maybe you'll discover a new game or series to try from these! Each time we have a touramant winner, that series/game will be retired from future grand tournaments so it doesn't get stale and one of the better performers from the secondary tier will replace it in the Premiere tier.

I'll also be doing probably 2-3 mini-tournaments every year in addition to the main Grand ones. These can have previous winners in them as they're more casual and probably themed. Leaving MGS out of a best stealth game mini tournament would be silly right?
