I like Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater!
My most anticipated game of 2025, and the only one I can safely say will be a day 1 purchase.

Really excited for this game, it's probably going to be my fixation on launch. I'm looking forward to exploring somewhere like Hokkaido, and I wonder what sort of traversal options will be available to us on mountain/cliff faces.
Also I know its teased a little in the trailer but I'm really hyped to see what the new weapons available to us might include.

Perfect release date IMO. October is when I start to get cosied up inside a lot more where it's the first month temps start to dip, and inevitably end up skipping running etc. for indoors-y activities.
Haven't watched any major new pre-release trailers or teasers, but I'm really excited for the customisation we can expect in this. Feel like Ghost of Tsushima knocked it out of the park with beautiful customs for my armour, sword, etc.

I am!
I was not big on the first. It got too much smoke blown up its ass when it was a very safe Assassin's Creed clone - but this one is a significant improvement in almost every way imo. The world is utterly insane and they've done decent work around mission structure and side quests for it to feel more open ended - I love the card system and how mission discovery can happen very organically without a rail road. Combat is more hype and they use the PS5 controller very intelligently.

Yeah, this game is sensational stuff. People will criticise it for using the "Ubisoft formula", but the Ubisoft formula isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just Ubisoft themselves that make it suck.
I've scarcely been engaged with an open world as much as this one. It's not a much bigger map than Tsushima, but much more densely packed, which is how open worlds should be. There's a lot to see, and it's easy to get distracted from the main story, which is so far excellent in it's own right. Atsu is a much different kind of protagonist to Jin, and is wonderful for different reasons to Jin.

Not playing it yet, but I'm excited to get my hands on it - a good portion of the way through AC: Shadows and once that's polished off, I'll be grabbing Yotei.
Tushima was a great experience, but I think it could've used a little fine tuning in some areas, even with that being said, it's still one of my favourite open-world experiences and probably my favourite 'traditional' Samurai games I've played. Due to, in no small part, the presentation of the world and just how beautiful it all was.
