A brand-new online multiplayer experience coming to METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER

I'm sure we'll hear more about this tomorrow. Some are naturally disappointed that this isn't an MGO revival, but we have more to see from it I'm sure and I do respect that they have gone to the effort to give us anything at all let alone set up something new. Judging by the characters above, we should still see decent customisation options. Hopefully there's more to it than one mode (which some are worried about), Konami themselves calling it a "multiplayer experience" instead of a mode may bode well. I would have loved to see old school MGO brought back, but it seems like they appreciate how much love it had so let's hope that translates to a good experience.

I'm definitely curious about this one. On the one hand, it's a bummer that MGO4 isn't coming back, at least not yet, but on the other hand, between MGO3 and FOB, I kind of enjoyed FOB more as a unique multiplayer mode, so I'm willing to give Konami the benefit of the doubt that whatever this mode ends up being can be really good, especially if it does end up leaning more heavily in cat & mouse stealth over conventional team deathmatches.

Like the MGS equivalent of Assassin's Creed's insanely underrated multiplayer mode.

Though, I do hope the music options and proper customization are present.

I do agree that the FOBs were a great system to have. Feel like it’s the forebear of the asynchronous multiplayer that Kojima eventually based Death Stranding around. Such a good idea to have the base you’re building be the focus of such a mode so that for once you’re on the receiving end of the lone infiltrator. Not to mention the nuclear disarmament messaging coming full circle with the ability to make nukes finally being offered to the player as the ultimate achievement. It’s a shame the event was never triggered properly.

And the Assassin’s Creed multiplayer was brilliant. Has to be one of my favourites of that era and I loved how it really did feel like a natural answer to how do you do Assassin’s Creed’s gameplay loop as PVP. The cat and mouse feeling of stalking your target only for someone else to take them or, worse yet, kill you. If Fox Hunt manages to evoke that feeling of anger you’d feel when you had set up the perfect most stealthy kill only for some noob to rush in and get the lowest point kill possible then that has the potential to be a worthy replacement for MGO. Make stealth the high level aim of the game and run n gunning the mark of an amateur.

The first instance of Assassin's Creed multiplayer (Brotherhood) was so, so good. I had no hype for it and thought it was unnecessary, played it on the first day it came out and I was hooked instantly.

That multiplayer mode had no right being so good, such an unexpectedly awesome multiplayer game

So my perks are set. I blend in to the crowd and change two NPC's to looking like me. I'll throw on disguise for extra coverage should my hunter be near, and I'll poison my target, netting a nice 800+ kill because it's incognito or nothing, baby, maybe more if i get to stun my assailant..... oh wait,  some fucking ROOFER is chasing everyone down and spamming the hidden gun.

I fucking hated roofers so much.

I hope we get to see something in-depth on this soon, less than a month at this stage so they surely have to give us something unless it won't be ready at launch.

The promo and communication has been kind of poor really. A lot of showing the same stuff despite months having passed.

This will probably release a few months after Delta. I don't mind that but I do mind them showing MGO2 footage saying "we know fans want MG" but then give us something new. The whole "the gaming landscape has changed" PR speak is just ridiculous. So instead of making something unique, like MGO2, they'll release a "we have it at home" version of prop hunt.

I know I'm being negative without even seeing much but ever since rumors started that MGO will make a return, I was expecting a more traditional experience.

Yeah the reasoning was definitely a bunch of spin PR rubbish. As if MGO wouldn’t still be much loved in today’s landscape? That being said I’m eager to see what Fox Hunt is all about-it could be something super original in and of itself.
