I beat the main story last weekend and got the platinum trophy today.

My overall thoughts is that the gameplay is very good and a massive improvement over the first in every way. The only major problem I had is that the driving physics still suck ass and need serious reworking.

The story was a bit of a let down, without spoiling it, I found it to be a pretty lazy retread of the first game.

The grind to get the platinum was fucking gruelling and honestly sours my opinion of it a bit. Getting 5 stars with all the facilities was made way more time consuming than it needed to be and it drove me to the brink of insanity.

After that, I'm gonna put the game to bed for a good, long, time. I suspect it'll be several years till I give it another replay. Even if it is my GOTY so far

Nice work man! I got my platinum today also. The adventurer was by far the most annoying prepper to get to 5 star I think! Ended up actually being my last one, comes to something when I found mr impossible easier (or at least less grindy) 

I found the sub orders in this game much more enjoyable than the first though, considering they were sort of special missions rather than a ‘take this to there’ sort of thing. Made them stand out more compared to the standard orders. 

I quite enjoyed the story, it is very similar to the first game mind you, but it does make me wonder if DS3 will follow a similar formula or whether they’ll change it up a bit.

The Adventurer was absolutely the hardest. He was my last guy as well. Mr. Impossible was the second last, they weren't too bad but I hate the dude's who voiced and mocapped them. They've been YouTubers for a long time and now they're doing feature films which have been good so far. But their voices and personalities annoy me haha.

Will there even be a DS3? I feel like I keep hearing Kojima is considering retiring after OD and Physint release. 
Or maybe he'll change his mind or let someone else direct a potential DS3

I agree that the sub orders were a lot better than the first. I felt compelled to do all of them this time around. With the first I just got 5 stars with everyone then moved on and didn't do any unfinished orders

Yeah I think there will be to be honest! Partly because of the points Dirty Duck has made about Kojima and MGS2 being his last game, but also because

of the cut scene with tomorrow in the porter suit heading towards what looks like another plate gate? Perhaps we’ll have a change of protagonist, and maybe even a change of gameplay given tomorrows abilities, or maybe it was just to demonstrate tomorrow’s admiration for Sam and porters in general connecting the world. Could always be a way to introduce someone else to take the helm creatively too, a sort of ‘this is the world I’ve built, but someone else can continue it… tomorrow is in your hands??’ To me it definitely felt like a hint towards a DS3 though

Hasn't he been saying some variation of this since MGS2? I think he's the kind of guy who will keep creating til he's dead. And he's clearly very enamoured with the world of Death Stranding. With the animated film and A24 film he seems keen to grow that world.

Well done both of you for beating it! I managed to play a bit today for the first time in ages (I brought my PS5 to a hotel room I'm at for work lol).

I've not checked since I'm nowhere near the meat of the game and don't want spoilers to appear on recent threads but is anybody in the spoiler forum on here?

Do we know when the animated film etc is due to come out? I haven’t looked into it too much and don’t know a lot about it other than it’s supposed to be happening.
