Nice to see you hit the ground running with your first post to dive into this topic.

I think we’re all in agreement that the explanation for Quiet is obviously idiotic. Especially given that Quiet is a fictional character and the writer behind her can just come up with any reason for anything. He could also have come up with some special suit that allows her to breathe without having her skin out. You wrote the problem and you wrote the solution, Kojima! A lot of Quiet’s design is weirdly something that’s grown on me-it’s pretty punk with the one glove and combat boots and ripped tights (having just a bikini is a bit much still. Wouldn’t hurt to have some sort of tactical vest and some military shorts or something). But none of it makes sense with the “explanation.” Why cover one arm if you need to breathe through your skin? Sure the tights are ripped which exposes the skin a bit more, but why wear tights at all? She’s designed to look sexy and cool. It was insulting to ever imply otherwise.

As soon as I got the XOF outfit I had her in that the rest of the game. However I don’t think the customisation options are really necessarily an example against Quiet needing to show skin in canon. Venom can wear costumes that make him possess a non-bionic arm. Doesn’t affect that canonically that’s a disability he has. It’s just an option given to the player. And thank God because it makes playing the game in front of people much less awkward during those chopper rides.

i did exactly the same , as soon as i unlocked the xof suit i just put her in that forever, not just because im a girl myself and its just feels unconfortable seeing her in that outfit ( i just keep thinking like if i were in her place i wouldnt felt at ease wearing that in the middle  of a battelfield ), but my 360 and tv are in the main hall so its feels over the moon perverted if someone ( my dad most of the time watches my games and we even play together and mgsv:pp because of its tactical war action gameplay truly interests him and he gives me instructions sometime on how to infilterate enemy camps and use what type of guns and i tell him the story of the game and so..) sees me playing mgsv:pp with quiet in that outfit( especially when boss is in the helicopter and quiet starts to do provocative moves, i just open idroid and try to select the mission as fast as i can to prevent this
but with the xof suit everything is normal
